A Dyke A Broad #111 Post-holiday Edition
"In the early morning, the moon hovers in the sky. I take a walk and notice yellow jasmine blooming next to piles of grey and brown leaves..." Photos and update.
Hello from Paris where my last six months have been like an unpleasant and extended ride at a carnival, tilting and whirling in unexpected directions, leaving me somewhere that looks almost the same, but isn’t at all. Whatever. In the early morning, the moon hovers in the sky. I take a walk and notice yellow jasmine blooming next to piles of grey and brown leaves that still remember falling. Embrace beauty where you find it, I think, even if it’s the result of a climate disaster.
To keep the newsletter going while I wrestle with my post-tilt-a-whirl nausea, I’ll probably send a note and some photos on Monday or Tuesday, then follow later in the week with a chapter of the book I’m revising (which I’ve mentioned before). The working title: A Word of Our Own. It’s about lesbians of course. And women, and other monsters.
